At Princess Animal Hospital, we are proud to be your go-to veterinarian. Our team will treat your pet like their own, from their early days to their golden years.

As our furry family members grow into their senior status, they require more attention and adjustments to their care. You may have noticed that your pet has slowed down and isn’t playing with the same amount of energy as they used to. Older cats and dogs can often suffer from arthritis, vision and hearing changes, gastro-intestinal difficulties, dementia, dental problems and a host of other issues. These concerns may lead to issues when caring for a senior pet.

How to care for a senior pet?

Ideally, we recommend scheduling a wellness exam twice per year. The goal is to ensure we discover any changes or health problems promptly. Also, we can make any appropriate adjustments to their care.

With our veterinary team’s help, we implement diet, exercise, supplements, and medications to assist in prolonging their time with you.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule your pet for an exam, please give us a call at 613.634.7123.
